By a collision in the New York Central Railway tunnel, "17 people were killed and 40 injured. • Per Association. DUNEDIN, January 10. Two lads named Henderson went down to the beach at- Tomahawk, near Portobeflo, last evening, and stripping off their clothes, waded across to the island. They evidently stayed there too long, and in endeavouring to make back were both drowned. The Tads were cousins. V One was a son of Thomas Henderson, fanner, living at Tcmr.hs.wk, and the other was Fenwict Henderson, aged 15, son of a bootmaker in Dunedin. The "latter had gone over to Tomahawk to spend a holiday.
