SATURDAY'S SALES. The Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited (per Mr J. Mundell, auctioneer) report on the horse and cattle market at TattersaE's on Saturday as follows:—Our entry comprised 38 draught, light harness and hackney' horses. All young horses .suitable for farm or light harness proposes sold well, but aged and inferior sorts were slow of sale. We quote values as under: Draughts, young,•with trial, £3O, £32 10s, £35, £39, to £4l; ditto, light and aged, £l4. £l6, £l9, £25, £2B, to £2B 10s; light harness sorts, £8 ss, £lO, £l2, to £l9 10s; hacks, £8 to £9. Mr J. B. Rutland, auctioneer for the Farmers' Exchange Company, reports on Saturday's sale as follows .-—Poultry—Good entry; roosters to 4s 6d per pair, one Brown Leghorn rooster os 6d and one 4s 6d, hens 3s to os 9d per pair, young chicks 3s per pair, ducks 5s 9d to 4s per pair, geese 5s 6d per pair. Hams and shoulders, 6d per lb. Pigs—Small entry; 7s to 12s. Potatoes were sold out at 6s 6d per bag. Oats, 7s to 8s 9d, all sacks in. Pig feed, 4s 3d per sack. Wheat, 5s to 7s. Sundries and furniture also found a ready sale. Mr J. B. Kutland (under instructions from the trustees of the late Jlrs Currie) submitted to auction at 2 p.m. sections Xb. 18 end 19, Wellington street, Timaru, together with dwelling. The bidding opened at £IOO, and the property was eventually knocked down to Mrs Currie, jun., for £l7O. The southern and northern moities of section No. 23 were also offered, but no offer was made, and the auctioneer ratima'.el that he was prepared to treat privately for the property.
