A large Parliamentary party who came through, from Wellington .by the mail train yesterday afternoon went on an upriver excursion to-day. The party will be back to-morrow, .and will return by the mail tra*".
ICHRTSTCHURCH, October 12. There was fine weather for the opening of the boating, cricket and fevrling seasons to-day. Owing to only two clubs \ taking part, the opening of* the boating \ -was a fiasco.
