CANTERBURY V. OTAGO.
OHRISTCHURCH. January 5.
The Canterbury v. Otago match was continued to-day. Otago made 127 yesterday. To-day Canterbury m their first innings made 98, only D. Recce 17, R. Sims 31, and A, E. Ridley 16, getting double figures. Eckhoff took six wickets for 27 runs. Otago m their second innings made a poor start, but owing to the. serviceable stand of |Downes and Geddes, the total reached 152 before the last wicket fell; Geddes (not out) 41, Downes 34, Baker 14, were the chief scorers. In their second innings, Canterbury have lost one wicket (D. Reese's) for 44.
