Fer Press Association. NELSON, January 5. The interprovincial . cricket match Taranaki v. Nelson commenced to-day, but heavy rain had spoiled a good wicket. Nelson won the toss and batted, putting up 110 ; F. Blucoe 23, Wastney 17, Graham 16, Whitehorn 25, Stiles 12. McCarthy took 6 wickets for 51, and Gudgeon 4 for 48. Taranaki followed, the wicket improving, and have 67 runs on the board without the loss of a wicket ; Pratt 40 and L. Elliott 27 (both not out).
