Cape Nelson reports that the steamer Ugenie, from Mauritius to Newcastle, passed the steamer Asloun with the Waikato in tow. She ia expected to reach Fremantle on the 7th instant. The captain asked to !;<■ taken in tow, but it was impossible. Nothing was said about provisions and coal, and it was concluded therefore that these were not required. She waa making poor headway under a certain amount of canvas. She did not eeera deep-loaded, and apparently had jettisoned some cargo. Shortly after they parted company the wind veered to southerly, and this would enable her to make headway in a north direction, in which lay her only chance of obtaining assistance.
