THE PERTHSHIRE.
. ♦ United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. Received June 9th, 9.40 p.m. Sydney, June 9. The tug Ohampton has returned from a fruitless search for the Perthshire. The tug Hero leaves to-night. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 9. The Upolu reports that the steamer Archer reached Fiji from, Sydney, and saw no signs of the Perthshire. Bhe kept a good look out. WELLINGTON, June 9. The Talqne is to go to Sydney by way of Lora Howe and Norfolk Islands, but will not do any zig-zagging. Captain Phillips, of the Mararoa, is confident that the .Northern Chief wrongly reported the position m which it spoke the Perthshire. On that day and at the time mentioned, he was within four miles of the spot, and as the weather was clear he must have seen the steamer had she been anywhere m the vicinity.
