AUCKLAND, Sbptbubbb 20. * The report of the directors of tbe South British Insurance Company states that after mnkiog the usual proviiion for outstanding losses and adding £4000 to tbe reinsurance reserve fund, there is a profit on the year's business just closed of £33,16613 i 9d, which, added to the balance of £2813 13s 3d brought forward from last year, leaves £35,980 7s at credit of profit and loss. The interim divi dend paid m April last at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum abiorbsd £3231 Bi, sinking fund Auokland leasehold £75, written off office furniture £387 lie, written off for depreciation on sundry securities £1200, and £20,000 has been added to the general reserve fund ; out of ihe balance of £11,086 Bs, the directors reoommend the payment of a dividend frr the second half* year at the rate of 10 pev cent, per annum which will absorbe £4847, and leave £6289 to be carried forward to sew acoount.
