(Ry Telegraph.) AUCKLAND, Auotjst 14. By tho Bualuno thero arrived under the außpicse of Mr Courtney, id order to take up land m Taranaki, a party who came out. under the Assisted Pai«ages scheme. The party compriaes 73 adults and two children, eisteon of the number being women. The majority are youDg men, formerly employed m London offices, only a few being practically acquainted with the work of farming. Nearly all poaeeas a little money. It appears to be the general intention to teethe work of farms prior to taking up land. Though not practical farmers tbe majority of tho immigrants appear to be of a goad stamp, suitable for pottjers, Mr Courtney had given a number of leoturee on TaraDaki m England, aod these were the means of induoing many to c >me out. Mr J. B. March, Superintendent of Government Settlements, met the passengers per Huahino aud gave them all necessary information. Mr Courtney's party of immigrants per the Buabine loft by the Takapuna for New Plymouth.
