CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE.
The following ia the Christohuroh Corn Exchange report for the woek ended Friday, March 10th. 1893 :— The market during the week has been, to put it mildly, eccentric m its movements, sometimes up and sometimes down. Wheat — The prioes remain as we quoted last week, but where we are travelling to we leave it to the prophets to decide. It is a blank and we leave it at that, but we do not think it .will be downward. Barley— We want some ; where is it ? Oats — The demand still continnes for good lines at prices. RyegraSs — The enquiry has not fallen off, and for onoe we were wrong ; it still continnes. Cocksfoot — Saleable at a low price. Potatoes— We need not refer to them at present. Millers' goods— We prognosticated a drop last week, and now we have it with a vengeance. The reduction is £1 per ton for roller; see below — best roller £8. The following prices are those paid to farmers, f.0.b., packages extra, potatoes and millers' goods excepted : — Wheat— Tnsoan 2s Bd, pearl 2s 7d, hunters 2s 6d ; we would point out to farmers not to ship with a mixed cargo, old and new together, " a mildewed ear blasting its wholesome brother." Barley— Malting 4s. Oats— Feed Is lOd, tartars and milling Is lid. Peas— 3s ld. Potatoes— 4sa to 50s. Byegrass — Firm, 3s 6d machined. "Cocksfoot— Farmers' 141 b seed 2jd. Cheese— 3d to 4id. Butter— Fresh factory lOd. Flour— Roller £8, Btone £7 10s, offal as before, sacks included.
