Timaru, Herald Office, Friday evening. THE MARKETS. The Canterbury Farmers' Association, Limited, report as follows for the week ending Friday, March 10th, J893 :— WHEAT. Bußinflaa at present is limited. The wheat offering is not plentiful, the majority being busy threshing. What is offering m most cases farmers prefer to accept the low prioes ruling — whioh show no prospect of improve* ment— than store. Prices are easier sinoe onr last, and the market is flat. OATB. Prioes having receded m Sydney business has slackened. There is only a fair demand at quotations. Tartars are wanted. BAKLEY. Prime lines are scarce, mostly medium lines are offering, VKAS. Prussian blues are wanted at 3s. POTATOES. Prices asked by farmers preclude business, buyers going elsewhere. Quotations are as follow, f.o.b. : — "Wheat— Tuscan 2s s£d to 23 6d, pearl 2s €d to 2a 6£d, red chaff 2s 4d to 2s od. Oats— Milling Is lOd, short feed la 8&d to Is 9d, Danish Is 6£d to Is Bd. Barley — Very prime 3s 9d to 4s, medium 8s to 3s 6d.
