CHRISTCHUECH. July 15. BHEEP. About 1500 store sheep were yarded, but with tho exception o£ two or three naimportaut lines they were withdrawn. 300 merino wethers fetched 3s and 277 2-tooth crossbred do wero sold nt 11s 9d to 133 Sd. In fat sheep not quite 4000 were yarded, of wh'cn there were some very prime orossbreds and a larger proportion of merinos. Best crossbred wethers brought 253, others from 16s to 23s according to weight and condition ; ewes sold from 9s 8d to 15a sd, maiden ewes np to 20s, wethers and maiden ewes suitable for export from 14s to 223. Merino wethers sold readily from 93 to 15s 4d. CATTLE. In fat cattle 220 head were yarded. The quality was above tho average, bnfc m consequence o£ the large entry the demand relaxed and prices suffered to the extent of fully 2s per lOOlbs. Best bullocks sold at ,£6 !53 to .£8 10s, h.eifer3 from .£5 to ,£5 12s Od with the exception of a couple of very choice steer 3 which exceeded that price ; 18s per 1001b3 was the highest price secured for best quality, while second class or half fat bea3ts sold from 14a upwards. Under 50 head of store and dairy cows met with a very dull sale, only a few odd beasts changing hands. pros. About 250 piga sold fairly woll. Bn3t quality baconera, corn fed, wero m good demand at from 3d to 3|d and other sorts from 2Jd per lb ; porkera sold freely at 3d to 3£d, according to quality, as also did weaners.
