Your board will gather from tho forogoing that wo do not agroe with the conolueion at whioh His tho dooieion to this district (situated as it is hot ween two of the largoat cities m tho colony) might be sufficiently serious to justify us m advising your board to appoal against the judgment if a less oxpensivo method was not almost* immediately available ; that is to say tho passing of an amend aiont Act to settle tho question during the ensuing session of Parliament, We strongly adriio your board to iako action m the direction last montionod." Mombors wore unanimous m tho opinion that, m fane of the Judgo's deoision, the board should lose no time m moving for an amendment of tho Act,, and it was resolvod on tho motion of Mr McLnrcn, socondod by Mr Sinclair, " That the chairman bo irjßlruotod to interview tho board's solicitors, and request them to draft an nmonding seotion for substitution m tho Hospital and Oharitablo Aid Act m lion of Section 74 of the said Aot, and that a copy bo sent to Wellington to each of tho members representing South Canterbury, and that thoy bo askod to use
