CHRISTCHUECH. June 10. SHEEP. There was a smaller ontry of store sheep than usual, and the demand was very good. A lino of between 200 and 300 2-tooth erossbreds snitablo for turnips sold at 13s Cd, and another lino of the same cla33 only realised 9s. Some woolly merino wethers sold at 73. There was a very large ontry of fat sheep, consisting chiefly of second-rate crossbred ewes with an occasional line of wethers and maiden ewea. The demand for export was active and prices remained firm throughout. A clearance was effected at fair rates ; best wether 3 brought up to 19s, and wethers and maiden ewes ranged from 14s Gd to 17g. Crossbred ewes sold at from 11s 9d to 15s 6d. Among the merinos there were few that attained good quality, the bulk of the entry m this section consisting of old ewes and wethers, for which there was little or no demand. CATTLE. Over 131 head of fat cattle were yarded, of which the greater portion was good quality steer 3 and heifers. Beat quality steers ranged between ,£6 15s and £8 23 6d, and heifor3 from £6 12s 6d to £8. These realised nearly .£1 per lOOlbs ; other classes sold at from 163 to 18s, and a few old cows sold at from 133 6d per lOOlbs and upwards according to quality. A small entry of odd lota of cows and heifer 3, with one single line of two-and-a-half-year-old steer 3 comprised the lot of store cattle entered. Steer 3 brought .£4, and there was a mnch improved demand for good sort 3of cows and heifers, which were sold up to .£5 15s. 53 dairy cows met with a willing market. PIGS. More than 300 baconer3 and porkers sold at rates which compared with former quotations. Best quality bacon pigs brought from 2Jd to 3d for light sort 3 farm-fed, and heavier sorts from 2Jd per lb. Porkers met with a ready sale at 3d to 3£d, according to quality,
