M. luit.fc, tho chairman, stated thnt- they would j prooood on fcho ljnee laid down by Mr Justice '' Denniaton'n judgment, and not refuse licenses only on prohibitionist grounds, NAPIER, Juhe 10. • 11 o'clock licenses, and that the holders ol i them could go on selling up to 13 withoul puniehment for trading after hours, but c strict welch would be kept, and any publicans , Boiling after 11 would only get ten o'clock licenses when applying for renewals. HOKITIKA, June 10. The licensing Committee met to-day to deal with applications for licenses The chairman informed the meeting that he hud nppliod to the borough council , as the local body receiving the revenue orieiug from licenses, i'or copies of the Act, but these wore not foriluvrung, and as he was ignorant of the intricacies of tho law relating to licensing ho did not think he was justified m dealing with the applications. Other membora concurred and tho meeting adjourned for a week to enablo copies- to be obtained. It is understood that tha pohco report is favourable and that all licenses will be ronowed. At Boss all the applications wero granted.
