The annual meeting ot the Deep Crock Licensing Committeo was held at the Courthouse, Waimate, yesterday. There were present — Meeara Sinclair (chairman), F. Jones, and 8. Collett. The application of Mr F. Gaitt for the renewal of his licenso for lbs Junction Hotel, Btudholme, vras granted The conditional license foe was fixed at Es per day. The masting then tel'mimfod. (Pr Tklegbaph.') DUNEDIN,Juse4. Tho Licensing Committee Bdjourned some applications m which two convictions had been recorded, to enable the licensees to show cause. The chairman explained that they bad deprived no one of a licenso bacause the. conditions contemplated by tho legislature had not taken place, none of the statutable objectors having put m an appearance. The bench intimated that they required to be furnished with good grounds beforo taking any steps towards reducing the number of botols.
