TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.

Tho ordinary monthly meeting of the TemukoKoad Board who hold on Tuesday last. Presont — Mosßra J. Tolbot (clmirman), J. Frasor, W. Snoll, and J. Woodhead. Corrojpondenco was received :— From Mr E. Whittiugfcon, requesting tho substitution of the natno of H. Thomas on tho rato roll m respect to rural section G383, and containing the consent of the transferee to tho alteration. Similar requests were receivod from Mr David Johnson with roference to Daniel Dwyer. From Mr J. A. Young with reference to Peter Stovenson j and from Mr Charles Griffiths with roferenco to Charles Bolan.— The olerk was instructed to make the alterations subject to tho usuul conditions. From Mr John Aitken, asking to hare the road opened from the Smithfleld property to tho road running up the river flat. — The overseer was instructed to report. From Mr William Davison, asking to bo allowed to rent the grarol reserve on White's rood, and tho terms. — It was resolved to apply to the Land oflica for permission to let that and other gravel reserves. From Mows Hodges and Son, asking to have tho drain on the west side of dyne's road cleaned, and offoring to pay half the oo«t. — Agreed to. From the South Canterbury Hospital sod Oharitablo Aid Board, requesting payment of half the amount duo by the board for the year ending Maroh Slat, 1891, the total amount being £288 6a Id.— Tho amount asked for was passed for payment. From tho Winchester Mechanics' Institute, charging 2s Gd for the übo of tho buildiDg for election purpoics, From Mr Wills, the returning officer, declaring Mr Woodhead duly olectod. From the Geraldioe Road Board, a cirou* lar m rcforenco to goreo m rivors, bridges, rating, etc— Tho ohairman was requested to reply. The fojlowing resolutions wore patßed: — "That tho board will nfits next meeting strike a gi'norul rato of jd m the £ on the rateable valtio of tho rateable property m tho district, for fclio poriod onfling March 31st, 18D1, payable m one sum at tho Koad Board . The overseer's ropprfc was read and considered, and it wit resolved " that tho work applied for by Mr Lawlor bo done, provided lialf tho cost of tho same be guaranteed." Accounts amounting to £185 Hi §i, including £Hl 12s 7(1 contribution to the Oharitablo Aid Board, woro paßsod for payaifot, and tho Board roes. I
