At r. largely attended meeting of the Canterbury branch of tho Railway Servant's Society at Lytteltoc to-night it wes stated that during the illness of tho otationmaster at Lytti>lton the two officers filling his placo dismissed or disrated several men without good reason. Some wero old, but all were fit for tho work they had to do. Cne who lost an arm m the railway service was employed oiling the points. Tho president and the secretary were appointed to . interviow the traffic manager. Failing satisfactory results a petition will bo sent to the Commissioners for the removal of the officers concerned and the reinstatement of tho men dismissed or disrated.
