Tho Scottish Hero, ono of tho New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered wool vessels, left Melbourno on January 4th for this port. Sho should arrive about tho middlo or latter. ond of this week. Tho steamer Brnnner arrived from tho north yesterday morning, and swung to tho buoy3. Sho has a quantity of cornsacks on hoard. She leaves at noou to-day for Dunedin. Ou Thursday noxt sho returns to take in cargo for Akaroa, Lyttelton, Wellington, and West-, port. The s.s. Fifoshire passed Port Chalmers, at 2.30 p.m. yesterday, but up to last night there was no appearance of her off tbis port. She -would arrivo in tho outer roads during the night and be brought into port at daylight this morning. All her cargo is ready for hor, and she should got away for London tomorrow afternoon.

The Shaw, Sayill and Albion Co's chartered barquo Lorraine is faat filling up, and Bhould get away next Saturday. She vri 11 have abont 600 tons of wheat and 3000 bales of wool, and will leave ki good trim for making a fast passage. The vessel to follow the Lorraine ia tho Laira, a neat little iron barquo of 492 tons register, - now lying at Lyttolton. She will leavo that port for Timaru during thia woek.
