LEVELS LICENSING COMMIT TEE.
Tbe annual roeetiDg for the Levels district was held st noon on Saturday. PresentMessrs E. G-. Kerr (chairman), I. L. Morris, 0. N. Orbell, A. Mcc, and R. Kerslako. Tho chairman stated that the police report was very satisfactory .there wore no complaints, and there bad beon no convictions during the twelvo months. The Committee woald renew all the licenses. The applicants wore :— W. Dale, Doncaster Hotel, Wnshdvks ; H. Gardner, Sportsman's Arms, Saltwater Creek ; T. Geaney, Railway Hotel, and J. Murphy, Point Hotel, Pleasant Point; M. Scannell, Arowhenua Hotel, Arowhenua ; and F. F. Finch, (accommodation license, fee £5) Cave Arms, Cave. All licenses for 10 p.m., outer lights to be kept alight till the hour of closing. In respect of the Doncaater Hotel, Ser/»eant-Uajor Mason asked whether the Committee had anything to fay about tho licensee beiDg absent m England. The chairman said Mr Dale had called upon him and he had given him permission to go, provided he left Mrs Dale m charge. He understood the licensee would not be absent more than six months. This was all the business.
