THREATENED BOOTMAKERS' STRIKE.
(BY TKLEfIRAFII.) CHKIBTCHURCH, Junk 8. Another bootmakers' difficulty is about to tale place. Messrs Tootner 8r09.' omployeoß threaten to co out on strike on Monday unless some trifling concession about the dinner hour is granted. Messrs Toomer Bros. decline, and have given tho men notice thnt unless they return to work unfettered by the j imion, they can go. The men have till Monday to reply. Meanwhile 300 hands are thrown out of employment through tho otoppage of Lightband Allen's works which were closed to-day, and all wages paid up to date.
