ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.

CHEISTCHUKCH. November 1. Thero was a fair attendance at Addington to-day. CATTLE. There was a fairly largo entry of fat cattle, bnt as has been the ca*io for some weeks, the entrv wa3 in excess of local wants. Prime bnllooks were sol.) np to £9 10s, be,ef of the very best qnality fetched -Os per 1001b, Wr to medium 18* to 19s, and inferior from Jss up. wards. There was a moderate entry of store cattle, moat of which sold at about prices that have ruled for the last few sales. The entry of dairy cattle was about ordinary, and prices showed no improvement. Thirty or forty passably good calves were on offer, and prices ranged between 03 acd 2*is. SHEEV. Owing to the fact that there will be uo market next Wednesday, being one of tho show days, there was a larger market for shenp than has been customary for some -weeks. The opening was rather dull, and the market throughout was somewhat uneven. Sheep in wool fetoh&d 31 per lb for primest, and shorn mutton price was worth abont 2il per lb. Tho average prica for fairly good shorn crossbred wethers was 10s 9d and lls 3d, bat an exceptionally good pen of six shorn crossbreds fetched Ua. All round there was a decided drop in tho market of about |ls per head. The store sheep entry was largo, and was made up mostly of yonng sheep, hoggets preponderating. Owing to the receut dry weather tha demand was weak, a good many withdrawals took pla>;e. Lambs were numerous. Us was the beat price obtained. The _ quality of moat of tha lines wasi rather snpe- " rior. MG6. Tho pigs were a poor entry, and pork was worth 3J per lb, but everything was sold.
