THE N.Z. SHIPPING COMPANY.

» (By Telegraph.) Wellington, O* t. 21. A moeting of the Wellington shareholders of the New Zealand Shipping Company was held this afternoon, Mr G-. Fisher, M.H.R., m tho chair. The following resolutions were raoTcd by Mr J. R. Blair :— (1) " That tho time has arrired when ,it is impcratiro on tho part of tho Wellington shareholders m the New Zealand Shipping Company to combine and take prompt action concerning the management of the company." (2) " That m the opinion of this meeting it is desirable that the directorate of tho company bo reconstructed so that the interests of the shareholders m the company may bo more •quitably represented." (3) "That as more than a third of tho shares of the company on tho register m the colony are held m Wellington, and taking into consideration its oconomic position for the purposes of management of tho affairs of the company, that the shareholders take the necessary steps to obtain a local board of directors ns proTided for m clause 43<i, page 21, of the articles of association." (4) " That tho board of director* of the company ba invited to rescind their resolution limiting tho number of directors to tho minimum number, so that the number of directors shall stand at the maximum number authorised by the articles of association, and that they convene ns soon as they may, an extraordinary general meeting to elect directors to the vacancies so made." The resolution! were carried unanimously. Tho following gentlemen were appointed a committee to giro offect to the abovo resolutions : — Messrs Blair, Tringliam, Fisher, Lockie and Spreat.
