BANQUET TO MR SCOTT. (Bx Telegraph.) CHKisicnuKcn, Oct. 21. At tho banquet to Mr Allan Scott, tho Midland Hailway delegate, to-night, 150 were present. It was a thoroughly representative gathering. The mayor was m the chair. Mr Scott's health wts enthusiastically drunk. Responding he paid a high tribute to Messrs Sclanders, Fell and Dobson for the assistance renderod to him m London, also to the Govornment for the manner they had befriended the scheme. Tho company had no intention of locking up the land they received, but wished to settle smnll capitalists on it. They would not import labour, but expect a fair day's work for a fair day's pay. Work would probably bo begun at Belgroyo and Springfield m six months.
