COAL MINERS ON STRIKE.

(By Telegraph.) DuNßDiy, Oct. 21.' 130 miners working m the Kait'ingata coal mine have struck work. ' The strike originated by two of the nteu working m the mine refusing to join the union. The other men thereupon gave notice that unless these two men were immediately dismissed they would •trike. Next day tho directors considered it would be unfair to take tho means of livelihood from these men who had been with them for years. The matter was explained to tho men, but they were obstinate, and gave notice -again that if the men were not instantly dismissed they would ccaeo working This they did. The directors have decidod to employ only non-union men for tho future.
