FIRE AT CHRISTCHUCH.
(By TELKouArn.; CnntßTcnrncn. Oct. 11. At about nine o'clock to-niglit, James Goss' s&wmill planing factory was totally destroyed by a firo which commenced m the cnginoroom. The premises nro injured m the National oflico for a largo amount, mostly covered by reinsurances. Abjut 100,000 feet of timber and a lnrge quantity of machinery wore destroyed. Tliefiro commenced m the engine-room, but its origin is only a matter of conjecture.
