The GorrdKntnent hayo recoiyed a cablegram from the Admiralty, suggesting tbnt Government should next session legislate m tbe direction of regulating the sale of intoxicating drinks to seamen belonging to Her Majesty's ■warships while stationed m New Zealand waters. The suggestion has been made m consequence of a number of desertions which are attributed to drunkenness. The question will be considered by the Cabinet next week, and it ia understood that the Government are fayourable to takingsction m the direction <l«tir«cl.
