From approximate returns to band it appears that fifty-four supporters of the Coalition Ministry have been i-e---turned again3t eighteen declared Opposition members and fourteen independents. All the Ministers have been elected with the exception of Mr JamesT Minister of Mines, who was defeated by a small majority. Among the prominent members elected are Messrs Harper and Madden, constitutionalists, Mr Patterson, opposition, and Messrs Wood and Lalor, independents. Among the rejected candidates are found Messrs Langton, Duffy, Angus, McKay, and Fincham. All the candidates who stood on the labor ticket suffered defeat. The elections passed off quietly, no signs of disorder being visible at any of the polling places. THE TASMANIAN MINISTRY. Hobakt, March C. Dr Agnew being unable to form a Ministry has relinquished the task. Mr Dodds, Attorney- General m the late Administration, has been charged with the task of forming a Ministry. BANK ROBBERY. Adelaide, March G. Three men entered the branch of the Commercial Bank of South Australia at Yankalilla (a small township about 45 miles from here) about one o'clock this morning. The burglars attacked the manager, whom they rendered insensible by blows. After gagging the manager's wife, the robbers abstracted notes to the value of £2000. No gold was on the premises. The police have taken the matter up, and black trackers are out searching for the robbers. i_R«ooived 1.30 a.m., March Bth. j ARRIVAL. Melbourne, March 7. The Ouzco arrived this morning. THE ELECTIONS. The complete returns of the Victorian elections confirm the division of parties already telegraphed, showing a considerable majority on the Ministerial side. NEW SOUTH WALES MINISTRY. Sydney, March 7. The following members of ; the New South Wales Ministry have been reelected without opposition : — Mr Copland, Secretary for Lands, and Mr Fletcher, Secretary for Mines. Mr Sutton, Postmaster-General, and Dr Renwick, Minister for Education, are being opposed m their respective electorates.
