MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

Tho ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held m tho Boad Board office, Peel Forest, on Friday, tho 15th inst. JIEMBEBS MESENT. Iho Hon. J. B. A. Acland (Chairman), Messrs B. Maoltoy, C. G. Tripp, G. J. Dennistoun, and R. Ihew. JIIKT/TES. Tho minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. COBBESPOXDENCE. Tho following corrospondenco was read and considered : — From tho Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch, m referenco to a grant of land on tho Opihi river, stating that tho area applied for included gravel rcaervo 2359. Ho proposed issuing a license to occupy the unappropriated portion, and would recommend the Government to vest tho rcsorve m tho Board. The courso proposed was considered satisfactory. From tho Census Enumerator, Tiinani, asking to bo supplied with a copy of tho district map. Tho Clerk informed tho Board that ho had replied, staling that there wcro no copies of the mnp available From Sir W, Ashby, requesting tho Board to clear tho stones off the road leading to his land m the Orari Gorge. The Overseer stated that the work was being attended to. From the Union Bank of Australia, Timaru, requesting instructions re the Board's maturod deposits. Kesolvcd— "That they ho renewed for a further period of ] 2 months." From the Geraldinc County Council, asking for a copy of the resolution of tho proposal to strike a rate and the resolution elriking the rate for tho year ending 31st March, The Clerk was directed to supply a copy of the resolutions asked for. From Mr Tripp, requesting permission lo plaiv gates across roads running through his property. Permission was granted subject to the conditions of tho Boad Board Act being complied with. SUSPENSION' OF WORK. Resolved — " That all day labor under tho Board bo suspended for two months during ' harvest."
