BANKERS AND LAWYERS v. THE WORLD.
The return match botweon tho abovo was commencod on Saturday afternoon, on tho ground of tho Timaru Orickot Club. Mr Perry captained tho Bankers and Lawyers, and Mr Fraser the World. The latter won tho toss, and decided to bat, and their first innings closed for a total of 126 runs, the top Bcorers being :—Fraser 35, Smithson 29, lawronson, not out, 25, and Archer 10. Tho bowling of Perry and Fish was very good, but they wcro not properly supported by the fiold, a great many catches being missed. The Bankers and Lawyers had fivo wickots down for 56 when timo was callod, Fish (36) and Baymond (11) being the highest scercrs. The bowling wns first-clnss, bnt the fielding was not up to the mark, Fißh m particular being let off several times. Tho match will bo continued next Saturday. The following are the scores: —
