(BY Tel/EOEAPH.) TRAINING NOTES. CHBISTCHtTRCH, Oot. 23. A heavy fog was hanging over the racecourse early this merning nnd the weather was slightly chilly. E. Cntts was the first to work and sent Maligner and Tiger tim two miles at a strong pace, while Nelson and Wapiti were given a serviceable spin three times round the plough. Mr Stead's two fillies Sierra and Fair Nell each covered six furlongs, the former at tliree-quarter pace, and the latter steady. Moan a and Ravenscraig did half-pace work over a mile and a half, and Marion cantered two miles. O'Connor sent Tasmania and Tasman, the latter with sweaters on, a conplo of miles steady. R. Ray's Leodegran went a mile and a half at half pace, as also did Leon and W. Milne's Fusilado and Rocket and Conundrum went two miles at little more than half speed. J. Armstrong gave Archduke a three-mile sweat on the tan, Spade Guinea accompanying him the last two miles. H. Lunn sent Irish Kirg once round at threequarter pace, and Kingask with rugs on went three times round the plough. Canard cantered three miles on the tan. P. Butler's Fusilier and Charmer did a brisk gallop once round the plough, and Tim Whiffler accompanied by Talebearer, covered two miles at three-quarter pace. Artillery had a flutter for half a mile. T. Ljford gave Berrington steady work twice round the tan, and W. C. Webbs' Ironsides and Wave colt went once round the plough at a good half-pace.
