Considerable sensation has been caused m artistic circles m this city by the discovery that a picture, " The Roll Call," which was purchased by the Trustees of the Art Gallery as a replica by Misa Thompson of her celebrated picture, is only a French copy and not a genuine replica by the artist herself. Brisbane, July 31. The Legislative Council last night rejected the Bill sent up from tho Assembly providing for payment of members. The finding of the Court Martial which waa constituted to try six members of the Victorian Permanent Artillery force, who acted as ringleaders m the recent outbreak of insubordination at Queenscliffe, has been made public The whole of the prisoners have been sentenced to six months' hard labor, at the end of which time they will, with the exception of one man, be dismissed the service. The remaining seven prisoners were asked to admit their guilt, but refused to do so, demanding to be tried by court-martial, which will be done shortly. Brisbane, July 31.
