TIM ABU— Tubsdat, Mat 12th. (Before J. S. Beswick, Esq., E.M., and H. J. LeCren and W. C. Fendall, Esqs., J.P.'s.) DISOBEYING OBDEBS OP THE COTTET. The case South v. South, for disobeying an order of the Court, was adjourned for a month. Ellis v. Ellis— ln this case at last Court day defendant promised to make some definite arrangement for the support of his wife and children before the Court again met. This he had not done, and Mr White (for complainant) now asked that some further Bteps should be taken m the matter. In answer to the Bench, Mrs Ellis said she had only received £7 from her husband since the order was made on Feb. 24th last. The Bench now .made an order that £5 be paid forthwith; m default of payment one month's imprisonment. cvrit cases. costs : — J. Ellis and another t. H. P. Maltbus, claim £2 2a Id, and costs 10s ; Moody and Ziesler t. W. B. Compton, claim £11 sb, and costs £1 ; same v. A. Wilkinson, claim £3 12s, and costs 10s ; John Macintosh v. H. Anderson, claim 12s, and costs 10s ; same v. It. Koece, claim 11b and cost 3 10s ; same v. G. Frainpton, claim £3 13s, and costs 11s ; same v, — Wilkinson, claim 14s, and costs 103 ; J. T. Warren v. W. W. Dundas, claim £61 3s 2d, and costs £5 3d (Mr M. J. Knubley for the plaintiff) ; A. St. G. Hamersley v. P. Hyland, claim £7 10s, and costs 17s. The judgment summonses, Watkins t. Dundas, and Bowles and another v. Dundas, were adjourned for a fortnight. M. Lynch v. Jas. Grant— Claim, £9 6s, judgment summons. Defendant was ordered to pay the amount off at the rate of 15s a week, m default 14 days' imprisonment. McKay v. Nelson and Smith — Claim, £8 13s 6d, judgment summons. Mr Perry appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Forster for defendant Nelson. Mr Perry examined defendants as to their means. Their answers were given m such a round-about way that the Resident Magistrate more than once sharply reprimanded them. The Bench ordered that the amount should be paid within 48 hours ; m default a month's imprisonment. A. Maxwell t. H. Godwin— Claim, £21 Ib. Mr White for plaintiff, and Mr Hamersley for defendant. This case had been submitted to arbitration and Mr White asked that the award made (£l6 4s, and £3 3s costs) be entered up as the judgment m the case. This was agreed to, and the summons endorsed accordingly. W. McS. Gentlemun v. H. Jackson and others, Stewards of the Pleasant Point Racing Club—Claim £20, amount of stake owing to plaintiff for the St. Patrick's Handicap, won by the plaintiff's mare (Little Doll) on the 17th March last. Mr Hamersley for plaintiff, Mr Ferry for defendants. After some argument it was decided to adjourn the caso to 1 hursdny 28th insfc., as it was likely to prove a rather interesting case, and to take the case Hobbs' Bros. v. the same defendants and claiming the same stakes, on the Thursday also. W. Eeid v. John Thompson— Claim, £2 2a, breach of an agreement. Mr Reid conducted l-is own case, and Mr White appeared for defendant. After going slightly into the case it was decided to adjourn it till Tuesday next. The case Blake v. Mundy was referred to Mr Fendall, who during the afternoon checked the accounts between the parties, and will submit his decision to the Bench on Tuesday next. Mr Hamorsley appeared for Mr Mundy and Mr White for Mr Blake. The Court then rose.
