SHOCKING DISCOVERY NEAR GERALDINE.

j (By Teiegraph.) i (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Gebaldike, May, 6. The body of a man named John Reid, aged 45, brother of Mr A. Eeid, farmer, living near Geraldine, was found to-day hanging from a tree at the back part of Raukapuka Bush. The deceased left his brother's about February Ist, and had not been heard of since. Some youths gave information that the body of a man _ was hanging m the bush, and on examination it proved to be the body of Reid. As might be expected, the body -was scarcely recognisable when found. The trunk web severed from the body, the latter being m ft heap on the ground. The sad affair has caused quite a sensation here.
