Tuesday Evening. WOOL SALES.
The National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, report having held their first wool salo of the season to-day, offering a catalogue comprising 300 bales greasy wool and a few bales station sheepskins, but competition was not by tiny means spirited, and bids for only about 50 bales reached owners' figures, Tho following are the various lota offered and disposed of, viz.: —JR, 5 bales crossbred passed 7td, 1 bale rams passed 5Jd, 18 bales half-bred passed S^d, 6 bales crossbred passed 7sd, 5 bales merino passed Bid, 2 bales first pieces 4gd, 2 bales lock.* Id, 1 bale black, &c, 4Jd, 1 bale merino, ifcc, 7d; 00 over O, i bales half-bred passed Bd, 8 bales crossbred passed 7id, 1 bale pieces passed 4Jd, 1 bale locks and pieces passed 3id: AQ, 2 bales crossbred locks a;id pieces, 3Jd; AH, 8 balc3 crossbred passed 7Jd, 1 balo pieces passed 3Jd ; diamond and dash conjoined, 1 balo second clothing, I bales first clothing, 1 bale combing merino passed Bid, 1 bale merino fleeces and pieces passed GJd, 1 balo locks and pieces passed 'lid; AG and Co., 1 balo locks 3d, 1 balo pieces Gd, i bales first clothing merino passed 9J, 8 bales first combing merino 9id, 1 bale second clothing and pit .53 7d, 1 bale first pieces 6id; 88, 9 balos crossbred 7d, 5 bales crossbred G£d, 1 bale merino passed 7id, 2 bales three-qartor-bred passed 7d, 2 bales pieces passed -t}d, 1 bale locks and pieces passod 2Jd ; Claromont, ■4 bales pieces passed 4*d, 4 bales locks passed 4d ; Eosebrook, 6 bale 3 merino, 19 bales crosabred, 2 bales crossbred, 1 bale long-wool passed 7Jd, 2 bale 3 pieces passed 4d, 1 bale locks passed 3Jd ; Cannington, 9 balos merino pieces passed 5Jd, 5 bales locks passed 3d ; Strathconan, 107 bales passod "id ; MG, 11 bales crossbred 7Jd : Gray's Hills, 3 bales sheepskins 6d; Grampians, 3bales sheepskins 5Jd ; Te Pukera, 2 bales sheepskins 4jd. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantils Agency Company, Limited, report that they held thoir first wool salo of the present season yesterday, when they submitted the largest catalogue ever offered m Timaru Including bins, their list comprised over 600 bales. Tho attendance of buyers was rather below the average, and biddings lacked spirit. A considerable quantity was sold, and with tho exception of a few bales, all the wool withdrawn is now under offer, and will bo soon disposed of. (By Telegraph.)
