(Per Electric Telegraph. — Copyright.) [Reutbr's Agknct.] [Received 1.4,3 p.m. Feb. 29th.l Chbistiana, Feb. 28. An important State trial was brought to a conclusion here to-day. The Rigsret, or Supreme Court, passed sentence of deprivation of office upoa Heir Silmer, the rirst member of the Government of Norway, who was recently- impeached and imprisoned by the Second Chamber of the Norwegian Parliament. The Rigsret has confirmed the action of that body, and condemned Herr Silmer to pay all costs of the trial. London, Feb. 28. The mails via Suez and Brindisi from Melbourne (left January 17th) were delivered here to-day. The cargo of frozen mutton on board the steamship British King, from New Zealand, arrived m excellent condition. The first portion was sold to-day at from s|d to 6d per lb. The mutton brought from Sydney by the steamship Iberia arrived m good condition. The portion placed on the market to-day realised from 4jd to 5d per lb. Consols remain at 101 jj. The Bank rate of diaconnt is 3i and market rate 3J per cent. New Zealand securities are : — 5 per cent 10-40 loan, 104& ; 5 par cent 1889 loan, 104 ; 4& per wnt 1879-1904 loan, LOO, ex div. ; 4 per cent inscribed stock, 100. The total reserve m notes and bullion m the Bank of England is £14,100,000, and the proportion of reserve to liabilities is 41 per cent. The colonial breadstulfs and tallow market is unchanged. Australian Hides — Large quantity offerand demand limited, prices |d lower. At the wool sale to-day prices were steady, but the demand was inactive. IBeeaived 2.30 p.m., Feb. 29th.l A bag containing 201bs weight of dynamite, with clockwork machinery, was found to-day m the cloak-room at the Charing Cross Kail way Station. An infernal machine was also found at Paddiugton Railway Station. These discoveries indicate that a project is on foot to destroy the London termini. Considerable alarm prevails m the" public mind. Cairo, Feb. 28. The force under Major-Ganeral Graham has received orders to advance against the enemy, and a forward movement will be made to-morrow (Friday). Two battalions of Egyptian troops, under the command of British officers, have started for Assouan, on the Nubian frontier, aft the First Cataract of the Nile, with the object of opposing the advance of the rebels m that direction.
