Tho pii'ce presented was Shakespeare's tragedy, " Borneo and Juliot," Miss Pomeroy oppeiring at (he ill-fated daughter of tho Capulofs, a character which geve her an opportunity of displaying ber rare trogio obili'.y. Tho merit of her performance was frequently and enthusiastically recognised by tho audience, the finale ot each aot being the signal for l>ud applanso ond. numerous Iboal citoringt. We havo not space enough o4 our command to dwell upon the many bounties of Miss Poroeroy's Juliet. It was an exhibition of great genius ond high oulture. Mi** Lily May, who played the loquacious old nurso, dojerven mention m terms of praise, and Miss Florence Lewis we thought made a good Lsdy Oapulet. Mr Elliot, who is reputed to be ths beet jeune premier this tide of tho line, played liomoo, and played it capitally. He was dren«d with great taste, and cspably developed tho many atirring p»«eage» fohisl part. Mr Appleton wat exceeding happy as Mercntlo. He rendered the "Queen Mab " speech with tore excellence, m fact hlo acting 'all through was of n high standard. Mr Oharlen Hall as the Friar proved hlrosslf a competent Bhakesperian exponent) The I minor parts were well nusuiinod. Mv Joyce
nns thoroughly equal to the r&le of Capulet, Mr Kennedy was intensely droll as I'eter, Mr Dillon played Tybalt, Mr Arrowsmith Benvolio, Mr Foley the Apotheoary, and of them it is to be slid th»t they all did well. To-night nn emotional drama, entitled " ted iistray." will bp produced, of whioh report speaks highly. MiesPonieroy is to appear as tbe Countess Ohandooe, a neglected wifi>, whose trials give ooope for tho display of all Miss Pomaroy's dratnatio power.
