The polling for tho general olection is proceeding. The following Ministers have been re-elected :— Sir Thoa. Mcllwraith, Premier and Colonial Secretary ; Mr Archer, Colonial Troasurer ; and Mr Perkins, Secretary of Lands. The final returns from Townsville havo not yot been received, and it is therefore uncertain whether Mr Mcllossan, Secretary for Public Works, ha 3 been re-eloctod. Mr King, Speaker of tho Assembly, has been defeated for Maryborough.

Sydney, Aug. 19, A telegram has beon recoived hero to-day from England, announcing that the Moat Reverend R. B. Vaughan, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, died suddenly at Liverpool yesterday. The intelligence has been received with universal regrot.
