AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.

Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the post week as follows : — Horses— A smaller entry than usual was today booked for sale, about 35 draught and light harness having been submitted at auction. They have to report an active enquiry for good young draughts, especially for young mares. These are commanding good prices if suitable for exporting. At their yards to-day tho quality, with a few exceptions, was poor, and prices mnch the same as last week's, viz., from L 22 to L3O for fair good draughts, LlB to L2O for medium sorts, ordinary hacks and light harness horses from L 8 to Ll4. They have aold privately during the week, to a buyer for the Sydney market, a number of really first-class mares, at very satisfactory prices, and owners of this class of draughts can find a ready market at remunerative rates. Sheep— The demand for store sheep is quiet, and but few transactions are taking place. They have no sales of importance to report. Fat sheep are keeping at full valnes, prime mutton being worth about 2Jd per lb, at which quotations they have placed privately several lot 3. Cattle— There is little enquiry for store cattle, feed being scarce, and tow lota are being offered. They quote valnes much tho same as when they last reported. Fat cattle are m good demand, prime beef being worth from 22a 6d to 25s per lOOlba. Wool, Skins and Tallow— At their usnal fortnightly sale, held last Wednesday, they catalogued about 800 skins, 12 bags wool, and a number of bags and casks fat. They report their naval attendance of buyers, and a fair competition for the different lots, all of which were sold at the following prices, viz. , full woolled crossbred skins, 3s 3d to 4s sd; medium and farmers' mixed lots, from 2s 7d to 3s 3d ; sundry bags mixed and inferior wool, at 4Jd per lb ; fat and tallow, at 2id per lb. Messrs William Collins and Co. report a good demand for all olasses of produce and general merchandise at their regular weekly auotion to-day. They quoto:— Fowl wheat, os to 8s per sack (markofc glutted) ; sound dry potatoes, 50s, inferior lots cannot be quitted at any price; feed oats, Is 6d per bushel ; Sydney onions, 10s per case ; hams, 8d ; bacon 7d, the entry being of a first-class description, the line was bought up by a southern purchaser. Bntter, Is to Is 3d; eggs, Is par dozen ; fowls (ancient birds), 23 per pair ; young roosters, 3s to 3s 6d per pair; geese, 6a to 10s per pair for dead birds ready for table ; turkey hens, 3s to 4s 6d each, gobblers, 7s to 8s ; carcase pigs, 3Jd to 4id per lb, according to size, best selling weights 1001 bto 1301 b each; oranges, 7s per case; farmers' flour, 12s per saok ; box teas, 12s ; pickles, 6s per dozen. Eonsehold furniture, boots, drapery and sundries were sold at fair rates.
