It was understood that, no article would be returned unless the donor's consent had been obtained. This had not been done, and he knew one gentleman who wished that articles given by him should not be taken away, as tbey had been given for the u»e of the school, and not for ths museum. The Esotor proposed, Mr Oilliea explained;, to take and cut away about an inch off the top of the upper sash of the windows, thereby making a draught at the top. It was an exceedingly (simple thing to do, and if found not to answer was easily remedied. Mr Gillies also moved, MrOlulee seoondeel, and it was unanimously carried — " Ihat Mr J. Jackson be authorised to obtain an estimate as to the co3t of folding doors m the school. THB STAFF. Tho Yen. Archdeacon Harper, the Bet. Mr Gillie*, and Dr Lovegrove, the Committee appointed at laet meeting to examine applications for tho two vacancies m the teaching staff, aDd report upon them with a view to assisting the Board to make a choice, reported that fourteen applications had been received for tha post of claisical or mathematical master, and only two for .tbatr of teacher of modern languagesand drawing; The Committee had decided to recommend firo to the Board for consideration for the mastership, but would not recommend either of the applicants m the other cate, as they could not teach drawing. After some consideration tbo Board, after perusing the testimonials and certificate* forwarded by the five gentlemen r< com mended by the Committee, reduced the number to two, and to giTe members time to fully enquire into the capabilities of both gentlemen, it was decided to hold a special meeting of the Board next Monday afternoon at three o'clock. ACCOUUm Accounts amoubting to £153 83 6d were passed for payment. Messrs Cluleo and McKerrow, the Committeo appointed t3 invest £503 lying at the Bank of New Zealand, reported that the money had been satisfactorily invested. The Board then a Ijourned.
