STRANDING OF A VESSEL AT NAPIER.

(Bt Telegraph.) N api kb, April 7. As the three-masted schooner Johanna Adolph, which completed taking ' m a cargo of wool, tallow and preserved meats yesterday, on behalf of the New Zealand Shipping Company, was being taken out into the roadstead preparatory to sailing for London, she took ground on a boulder bank inside the eastern pier head, and stranded. She started out on the last of the flood tide, under tow of the s.s. Sir Donald, bnt before she could be headed oat into the tide-way, she bilged slightly on the bank just outside the cattle wharf. This, however, only necessitated a slight delay, during which time the tide had commenced to ebb, and carried the Sir Donald out ahead of her, so that when olear of the bank she was unable to get her enough out into the stream, and the schooner kept m the shallow water along the pier, eventually taking the ground inside the tail end of the boulder bank, on the lee side of the eastern pier. Her head is almost opposite the lighthouse, where the ebb tide making, held her fast. There was a considerable sea on the bar this morning, which caused the schooner to surge about a good deal, and lines wefo nut out to the breastwork to stead? her as much as possible. The 8.3.
