OAMARU RACES.

Oahakv, Deo. 28. The meeting to-day was very successful, and (ho racing was good although there were very frw first-class horfes entered. The weather was fine. 'Xha following are tho results : — Maiden Plate of 30 soys; entry, £2; one and a quarter miles ; for any horfo that had never won an advertised flat raco of £10. Mr W. O. Luck's All led off, with Adamant m close attendance, and m«do the pace a docker for about half a milo, when he was passed by Adamant. Adamant won rather casi'.y from Littlo John, who was hard pushed. .The rest came down m single file. Time—2min 22j<?c. Vumpiro was, howover, qutoHy disposed of by Numa, who, with ijoukar, went to the front, leaving the.other two tailing off m tbe rear. Numa led slightly, and it was quite evident beforo reaching the turn for home that he had the raco m hind, as it wus found nccestary to apply the whip to Soukar to keep him closo to tho leader. Entering tho straight Numi still led, und without being pushed was landed a winner by about a length and a half. After this there was nothing to doicribo m the race, as although Little John made a dcspirato effort to catch Unknown, it nti without avail, and Unknown won rather comfortably by about a length. J Publicans' BTahdicap, of 40 soy«.; nomination 1 eov., acceptances 2 soys., with a sweep of 2 soys. to go to the second horse; li miles. . Mr A. J. Keith's b g Soukar, aged, 7st 91b (S. Harris) 1 Messrs Mason and Vallanco's br h Vampire, 6yrs, 7st 12lb (T. Morgan) 2 Numa and Blue Poter wero scratched. Vampire led for about hnvo a mile, when Soukar went up, and passing him easily, continued to increase his lead, and won by six lengths. Time —2mins 57secs. Sevan Bolls came m flrat m tho Hack raco, but a protest was entered, which will be decided to-iiiorrow.
