THE KETCH PALMERSTON.
!TO THE EDITOR OV TH3 TIMABU HERALD. Sib, — I was extremely sorrry to tee m your issue of today, that Mr Acklarid, the manager for tho lessees of the Government Landing Services hod seriously committed himself m tho latter portion of his letter. He makes it appear that - as .; soon as a crew was sent, the two men who had gone on board from the Government Landing Serf ice, and with that Service's dinuy, left whtn the crew were put on board . To thi?, I say it is contrary to facts, the men refused to leave, and did not . do so until a signal was given fiomthe Goi vernment Landing Service. It was my m,- , tention to let the matter rest, and should . have done so if Mr Ackland had given the true veraon. I am, &c, T. B. Gbbbnup, Agent for tho Palmeraton. Timaru, Sept. 4th.
