TO THE EDITOB OF THE TIMABTT HEKAXD. Sir, — m the evidence given at the late inquest it was stated by some witnesses that the crow of tho Melrose did not understand the use of the rocket line. I wish to inform you that wo all knew what to do on that occasion. Our boatswain volunteered to go aloft and clear tho line, but it was impossible to do so as our topmnst aud royal backstays were adrift, and the rigging was hanging m the bight.
