The public works are .being carried on without recourse to loans ; the present advances • from the ; ConBolidated Revenue to the : Loan Fund 1 amount to £1,600,000. The revenue, ; this year, is confidently expected to reach, i £5,885,000. Legislation wijl be directed' m favor of an amendment m the Land, ' Municipalities, Customs, and Electoral' Laws. ' ■■■■:■ ■ Nov. 29.' The Assembly are discussing ah Address m Reply to the Governor's Speech. 4.U amendment is proposed by the Opr position' which is virtually a motion of want of confidence. The result is doubtful.
