CHURCH MUSIC AT TEMUKA. TO THB IDITOE OF THB TrMABU HIEALD. Sib,— Knowing the general circulation of your paper. I ask the favor of inserting a few lines which will «xprefs my feeling on what I consider a moit important subject. I appeal to the congregation of St. Saviour's Church, Temuka, as a duty, to do what lies m their power to assist the few who at present, with great difficulty, try to uphold the musical portion of our beautiful service, which, from the apathy of those who are competent, is dwindling to the lowest ebb. Surely it is no disgrace to be a member of 81 church choir, materially assisting m the service: what them can be the reason for those who are capable of leading the young members absenting themselves altogether, or being the most irregular attendants? lam sure it is very painful to our organiit, and the few who never willingly absent themselves, also to friends (not members of our church) who sometimes form the majority of our choir. I trust this may meet the eye of those who will take the subject to heart, and that we shall soon lee more adult members joining our choir, when doubtless a proportionate increase will take place m the juveniles. With apology for trespassing so far on your valuable space. I hare, etc, Chubcbuav. Temuka, 25th June, 1877.
