Business Is again dull ; but stocks on hand are low and no speculation is apparent Many of the houses m town are doing little trade, and do not expect any improvement for a few weeks. One favourable sign is the many enquiries made for wheat for exportation; but the price offered is not satisfactory to holders. Wheat may be quoted at 3s 6d ; seed wheat, 4s per bushel ; and oats 3s to 3s 6d per bushel, according to sample. Cattle are scarce and command high prices. Abont twenty dairy cows, with other cattle will be sold at auction on Tuesday by Messrs Stubbs and King at the Agricultural Show Yards, Timaru. TheNorfolk Arms Hotel, at the river Hook, with 100 acres of land will be sold by auction by Messrs Stubbs and King at their rooms, Timaru, on Wednesday ; besides a section of land m Heaton street, Timaru.
