AGRICULTURAL RETURNS.
We take from the Provincial Gazettee which was published on Saturday last the following Agricultural Statistics, showing the number of acres under crop, and the estimated yield of wheat, oats, and barley therefrom, for the year ending February last : —
The following table, which gives the quantities of grain produced m the different parts of the province, has since been handed to us (" Press"). It will be seen that the district of Christchurch is made to include all that portion of the province lying between the Waimakariri and the Rakaia, with the exception of Lyttelton and Akaroa, and that the district of Timaru comprises the whole of the province lying south of the Rakaia ; while the land to the north of the Waimakariri comes under the heads of Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Liethfield, and Oxford. These statistics are for the year ending February 28, 1867. There are no returns from West Canterbury : — *
