A nasty accident occurred atParawai yosterday afternoon to Mr James McEnteer, of the Waiotahi, It appears that he was driving down Bewi's Hill from the Parawai Booms, when the brake on the vehicle failed to act, and the buggy came on to the horse, causing the animal to bolt, The driver, it is stated, jumped out, and Mr McKnteer, in endeavoring to obtain the reins, which were dangling on the ground, the horse kicked out, striking j Mr McEnteer in the face as well as breaking a splash baard. The injured man waß unsuccessful in hi 3 attempt to get the reins, and when near Mr Duft-y's residence he was thrown out of the trap. He wapicked up and taken to the hospital, where it was found that Mr McEnteer had sustained nasty injuries to his face, as well as having three ribs broken. After being attended to by Dr. Williams the sufFeror proceeded to his home.
