Tho weather is still cold, and heavy showers are falling. The County Conncil Conference, which it was proposed to. postpone until the 23rd, .began tO'day. This morning's business was formal. The Conference meetagain in the afternoon. " The trial of Spmerville, for murder, still occupies the Supreme Court, and is not likely to finish for some hours. The evidence called to-day is much to the same effect as yesterday, as to the peculiarity of accused. Dunedin, August 10.
